Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) presents organizations with unprecedented opportunities for innovation but also ushers in complex challenges. This discussion explores the key roles of CISOs and CIOs in shaping Generative AI policies. In this regard, CISOs are responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of Generative AI systems, including data protection and ethical considerations. CIOs, on the other hand, must focus on integrating Generative AI technologies efficiently while also fostering AI literacy within the organization. Together, they collaborate on crafting policies that encompass security, ethics, intellectual property, training, and monitoring. These policies provide a framework for responsible and secure Generative AI adoption, balancing innovation with the imperative of safeguarding organizational interests and data.
